Services & Families
Therapy your child wants to be part of
Your child has a voice in every moment of therapy. We build each program around your child's interests and your family's priorities, and teach through your child's motivation.
We meet every child where they are.
Assent-based
Children have a voice in every moment of therapy. We always listen to and respect their assent and assent withdrawal, and build trust before building skills.
Learning through joy
Kids learn best when they're happy and engaged, so we use play-based structure and teach through everyday routines.
Compassionate care
When we notice the child doesn’t want to participate, we change the teaching strategies and environment. We teach using the child’s motivation and cooperation; learning is not forced.
What we provide
Every service is delivered or overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Behavior identification assessment
A BCBA interviews caregivers, observes your child, and uses standardized and curriculum-based tools to find current strengths and next skills. The result is a written treatment plan with measurable goals. Reassessments happen on your plan's schedule, usually every six months.
One-on-one therapy
A trained behavior technician (or BCBA in certain circumstances) works directly with your child on communication, play, daily living, and social skills. Teaching is built into natural routines and activities your child already enjoys.
BCBA supervision
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will attend weekly sessions in-person or virtually to support the behavior technician and child’s progress. During those weekly sessions, the BCBA will directly observe treatment and review previous data to help problem solve barriers to progress, as well as modify, remove, or add any skill building programs or behavior intervention plans necessary.
Caregiver coaching, support, and training
Parents and caregivers learn the same strategies the team uses. We don’t teach you how to parent your child; instead, we work with you to develop the best strategies to see learned skills occur outside of direct therapy time.
Coordinated care
With your consent, we share progress with your child’s doctor and work alongside speech, OT, and school teams.
Skills we commonly work on (but are not limited to)
Functional communication · Requesting and refusing · Play and joint attention · Social interaction · Toileting · Daily living routines · Safety skills · Regulating and tolerance · Reducing challenging behavior

A trained behavior technician provides your child's therapy sessions. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst assesses your child, writes the treatment plan, supervises the technician in sessions, and leads your caregiver training. In some circumstances, a BCBA may provide direct services with your child.
-
In your home. Your child learns in the place they know best and are most comfortable, and skills are practiced right where they'll be used every day.
-
This depends on different factors, including your child’s needs, your availability, and what your insurance authorizes. The BCBA will recommend hours after the assessment and explain the reasoning. The BCBA will work with you to find the optimal schedule for your family that will set your child up for the best success.
-
Yes! Research shows that parental involvement increases the child’s success in therapy. That doesn’t mean you need to watch every minute of therapy, however the BCBA may recommend specific times to observe session or include the parent in portions of sessions to work on skill generalization and training.
Caregiver coaching, support, and training is part of every plan, and many insurers require it. It is also the strongest predictor that new skills will last.
-
We serve children as young as one and a half years and as old as insurance will cover services (generally between 21-26 years old). Contact us and we will tell you whether our services fit your child's age and needs.
